SCS SB 247 -- PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERS LICENSE PLATE

SPONSOR:  Dolan (Bruns)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Transportation by a vote of 11 to 0.

Under this substitute, the $25 emblem-use contribution will go to
the Missouri Society of Professional Engineers instead of the
Missouri Society of Professional Engineers Educational
Foundation.  A corrected provision dealing with volunteer
firefighter and fire district firefighter special license plates
is included in the substitute.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds in FY 2006, FY 2007, and
FY 2008.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the revenue collected should go
to a different fund to better benefit professional engineers.

Testifying for the bill were Senator Dolan; American Council of
Engineering Companies; and Missouri Society of Professional
Engineers.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
